• I got fat. How do I lose this kind of fat?

I am 38 years old and up to 33 I had a nice body and a weight I liked at 5′9, 155lbs. I had two babies in that time and NOW…. I am fat. In my youth I was terribly skinny. At 21 I was always trying to maintain 121lbs (which tended to fall) and I hated it because I thought that kind of skinny was reduculous and I still do. Anyway, the point is that I have a skinny history but it looks to me like a fat future. I have seen people on tv in their weightloss testimonies but I want to hear from real mothers who lost real weight in a more natural way. I don’t want to exercise like a beast, starve myself, take pills or stop enjoying life. I do not overeat although yes I like to snack but within reason (a few bars of chocolate like once a week or even two weeks). I have started to eat properly (whole wheat, veggies, low carb etc) and my exercise is just a stepper because I konk out whenever I try to do any kind of aerobic exercise. I feel I have no energy and I am losing hope. I hate looking this way with a fat belly, no abs at all, flabby thighs and a puffy face). Although my baby is now past two months I am now 186lbs and I know that is overweight (so no need to bash me) and even though I keep hearing that my weight should still reduce, I was unable to breastfeed so I don’t believe it. I am fearing that no matter what I do I will never firm up my jelly belly or reduce my thighs without surgery. So that said, the real question before I really go all into the diet and exercise is “Is it realistic to believe that with regular diet and exercise alone, I can slim down to my desired weight and firm up a saggy body, ravaged by motherhood??” AND “Aside from TV, has anyone ever really had that kind of success?”

A DIET IS WHAT YOU EAT….there for we are all on a diet….
    THINK LIFESTYLE CHANGE

You got the change the way you think and feel about food

TRY THIS, and stick to it.

The first 3-4 weeks are the hardest until your body adjusts to the change.
Results will be in about the same time

    Fruits and Veggies

Eat more plants and keep away from stuff that was made in plants.

Don’t eat anything that comes in a can, box or package….
…..THEY HAVE ADDITIVES IN THEM THAT MAKE YOU ADDICTED TO THE FOOD…..
If man made it, don’t eat it

    NO white BREAD or SUGAR

    NO FRIED FOOD…

    Stay away from FAST FOOD

Walk your dog, or walk a friends dog

Don’t think of it as a diet, but think of it as a lifestyle change

I have lost 25.5 pounds in 2 months, drink lots of water. I usually eat a meal of what ever I want once a week….controlled portion….this really works………

Write down every thing you eat

Take a multi vitamin at night

  2. Here are a few tips;

WHEN to eat for losing weight…

    • Eat (at least) three times a day.
Because when you eat only once a day, your metabolism gets slower than it already is! That’s the main reason. Sounds funny, but to lose weight… you must eat (the right things, of course)
    • Eat low-fat, high-fiber foods such as salads and vegetable pastas.
    • Your last meal should be before 18:00. Try.
    OK, one apple after 18:00
    • Don’t starve
Starvation is not good for losing weight, nor your health.
Starvation is the worse thing you can do in a weight loss diet.
    • Try oatmeal instead of cornflakes for breakfast–eating oatmeal can help reduce cholesterol levels, and its high fiber content will keep you full longer.

WHAT to drink for losing weight…

    • Drink 6-8 glasses of water every day !
Can be tap, plain, mineral, sparkling. I just love mineral sparkling water!
This improves your bowel, reduces the “hunger” sensation, and hydrates your skin. Your skin will look much better after the first weeks!
Don’t believe the slogan “water makes me fat”. Besides being stupid… you might get into serious troubles with your kidneys.
    • Drink ONLY natural juices, freshly squeezed!
Don’t drink Coca Cola, Pepsi, and Sprite etc. during the diet. Even lite or light versions.
    • Avoid those vending machines by carrying around your own healthful foods and leaving pocket change at home.

    Exercise for losing weight…

    • If you want quicker results – exercise would be good.
    • Start a regular exercise program and stick with it. Don’t be afraid of those sweat suits and Lycra pants!
    • Start swimming. Swimming is an excellent exercise to get involved with, since it increases blood flow and uses muscles we don’t regularly use. Start a swimming program and try to do it 3 times a week. You will feel excellent and rejuvenated.
    • Choose an exercise program that you enjoy, and don’t shun the unconventional. For instance, did you know that regular vigorous dancing is exercise too?
    • Also Cardiovascular exercises such as running, jogging, or aerobics will help you lose that unwanted belly fat. Weight training can also help you lose body fat because the more muscle mass you have, the more ability your system has to burn body fat.

    Good luck!

  3. you will need to find some exercises specifically for the thighs and belly if you want to lose that flab.

I have one son and I went to over 200 pounds after he was born.

So to lose weight in a healthy way, you need to eat smaller amounts of healthy food (low sugar) more frequently – about every 3 hours. On the G-I diet I lost 30 pounds in 5 months. I drank (and still do drink) ONLY water. I am still large, but it is coming off slowly.l

The only extra exercise I did was to speed walk several times, up and down the hallway of my apartment building, 3 times a week. When I first started speedwalking, I could only manage 6 lengths before I was puffing. Now I can speedwalk 20 lengths and hardly be puffing at the end.

There is NO measurements of food in this diet. See links below. You just eat small amounts of the healthy foods, and eat whatever good (green) foods you choose at any time.

Green foods are good, yellow is not so good and red is bad, but not totally verboten. Occasionally you can treat yourself to a not-so-good or bad food (high sugar).

But in general you will need to cut the cookies, the candy, the chocolate, ice cream etc etc. This is a lifestyle change and I am so glad I made it.
